My partner Joe and I have finally just released our bombshell on our close friends and family after many months of thinking and planning - I'M GETTING MARRIED!
Joe proposed to me on New Year's Eve but I decided to keep in the news until we had considered our options and Joe being Joe, he wanted to make me happy and get that ring on my finger before I could wriggle free and run away from him! hehe
Here's what we have planned so far:
Location
After much deliberation, research, heartbreak followed by even more research, we have decided on a beautiful church on the east coast of Scotland. I've always imagine getting married near the sea and, well, realistically this is about as close as we'll get.
Joe wasn't very picky about location, but which men are?
I sat on Google for many nights as Joe slept, just searching for that location that brings a warmth to your heart and a tear to your eye. In the end I feel that we have chosen the perfect place for us - it fits our budget and is easy to reach for most of our family and friends with them being very open about the ceremony afterwards.
Food
Both myself and Joe are HUGE food fans, so this one was particularly difficult.
We didn't want your typical buffet because, well, everybody has one of those and so we opted for something just a little different. Joe loves sweets and chocolate, I mean so do I but Joe really, really does love his sweets and so I thought it would be a good idea to put in a big order of retro sweets at the Retro Sweet Corner in Liverpool.
Sweets are just a small part of the menu of course, but for us it's probably the centre of the menu which isn't very healthy at all. Hopefully our guests will enjoy them.
Travel
Because my husband-to-be is madly, deeply in love with supercars I decided I would be the best girlfriend, or wife, in the world on that one day of our lives by booking him a Lamborghini or Ferrari to drop him off at the church. Stylish arrival or what?
He actually isn't aware of my idea and I don't intend on telling him, but I hope he will be thrilled on the day when it turns up roaring outside his house.
But what about you, Sally?
Hey, I don't want anybody worrying about or feeling sorry for me - I'll be arriving in style on a horse and carriage like a princess should. Didn't think I'd drop that one, did you? ;)
Final Thoughts
So there you have it, your good friend Sally is going to be a happily married woman in the year of 2016 - it really cannot come soon enough. For those wondering about invites, don't worry they'll be sent out shortly - let me know if you don't get yours.
See you next time! :) x
